Ralph Wood is an American journalist who currently works as a sports director and nighttime sports anchor for KPTM FOX42 News in Omaha, Nebraska, United States of America. He was the longest-serving television sportscaster in the history of the Fresno television market.
Born in Los Angeles, he attended and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating, he began his television career at the NBC affiliate in Reno. There, he served as a weekend sports anchor, general assignment reporter, and news anchor.
Prior to joining his current station, he worked as a weekend sports anchor and reporter for KJEO TV, the CBS affiliate in Fresno. Managing his journey with KJEO TV, he received a role in the CBS miniseries “Fresno” starring Carol Burnett, Dabney Coleman, Teri Garr and Charles Grodin.
Talking about his achievements, he has covered Fresno State football at the Las Vegas Bowl, the Freedom Bowl and the Kickoff Classic in Anaheim. Furthermore, he was there for the Fresno State basketball team’s trip to NIT in New York.
