In 2002, while working for the Boston Globe, Kevin received the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Kevin was hired as a sportswriter for the Boston Herald American in 1977, where he covered the Boston Red Sox. Also, in 1979, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Baseball Writers Association of America, which he served until 1980.
