Blayne Alexander is an American journalist who works as a reporter and anchor for Atlanta-based NBC affiliate 11Alive News. Alexander anchors 11Alive Weekend Today on Saturday and Sunday mornings starting at 9am, in addition to his weekday reporting.
Blaine, a three-time Emmy Award nominee, covered some of the most important news events in recent history across the country. Her first major assignment was to cover the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama with a team of journalists in 2009, a job she would repeat four years later. After the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray, Blayne spent days covering protests in Ferguson and Baltimore.
Additionally, she covered the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama, when the nation’s attention was drawn to the small community. Blayne’s work has been shown on MSNBC and The Weather Channel across the country.
Blayne worked as a general and education reporter at WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia, until moving to Atlanta in 2011. She began her career as a production assistant for NBC Nightly News in Washington, DC.
