Biography of Agnes De Rouen
Agnes DeRouen is an American journalist who currently serves as the anchor and editor-in-chief of 7 News at Noon at KPLC in Los Angeles, California.
DeRouen was born in Avery Island, Louisiana, in the state of New Iberia. She completed her high school studies in mount Carmel Academy. she passed to University of Louisiana at Lafayettewhere he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in English and Journalism.
Agnes has worked at KATC in Lafayette for over 20 years as an anchor, reporter, managing editor and many times as an interim news director. She won several Associated Press awards for reporting and documentaries during her time there. She was also awarded the Edward R. Murrow Award for a Feature Film. She has also received numerous accolades from the community throughout her time at KATC, ranging from outstanding young businesswoman to the Acadiana Arts Council media award.
She interviewed Mother Teresa, covered papal visits in New Orleans and St. Louis, reported on Akkadian culture at events across Canada and interviewed several famous figures including Ella Fitzgerald, Rudolph Nureyev and the Crusaders throughout his career.

Agnes is also a member of several arts organizations in the Lafayette area. She has served on several boards, including the Lafayette Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, and was the founding board of the Hospice of Acadiana. DeRouen was also the secretary of what is now the ULL Alumni Association.
Agnes started working at KVHP FOX 29 in Lake Charles in June 2002, initially as a 5pm anchor, then as a midday presenter and producer, until her departure in June 2006. She then began working part-time in the reference of the System of Public Libraries of the Parish of Calcasieu. Agnes worked in her school’s library as an elective and later worked in her college’s library to help pay for her education. She got a call from KPLC while working at the library and ended up returning to television.
DeRouen is the assignment editor and anchor for 7News at noon at the moment. Agnes continues to work at the library a few hours a week.
She is an avid reader in her spare time, reading up to four novels a week, and enjoys collecting first edition autographed books by her favorite authors. DeRouen also collects brooches or pins, having inherited hundreds from his mother. She is also an avid animal lover who owns two dogs and a gray cat.
