DeMarco Morgan is a renowned American journalist who currently works as a weekday morning news anchor for CBS’s flagship West Coast station, KCBS’ CBS2 News This Morning. Prior to joining the station, Morgan worked at WXIA-TV in Atlanta as a reporter and co-anchor for the station’s 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm news.

Morgan graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1997, after which he worked as an intern at KOTV. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University in Mississippi in 2001 and a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2002.

Morgan began his broadcasting career while earning a master’s degree at Columbia University’s School of Journalism, covering the 9/11 attacks. He also spent two years teaching journalism at Jackson State University and English at Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Morgan got his first job as a reporter after graduation from CBS affiliate WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2004, he joined ABC affiliate WISN in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he co-hosted for three years with Portia Young. He began working as an anchor and reporter for the NBC station WTVJ in Miami in 2007. In December 2008, he joined WNBC, NBC’s flagship station in New York, as a weekend anchor and MSNBC anchor.

Morgan began her career at Atlanta-based NBC affiliate WXIA in January 2012, where she co-hosted the 6 pm news with Brenda Wood and reported for the 11 pm nightly broadcast. DeMarco also taught journalism classes at Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University while in Atlanta. Morgan left WXIA in October 2015 to become a correspondent for CBS News.

On April 17, 2019, it was announced that Morgan would join CBS Los Angeles station KCBS as a weekday morning anchor for the 4:30 am to 7:00 am and 11:00 am news starting May 6, 2019. On May 19, 2019. January, he also anchored selected newscasts for the CBS station WCBS in New York and the CBS Weekend News in Los Angeles, as the CBS Broadcast Center was closed due to infected CBS employees.
