Elizabeth Peterson biography
Elizabeth Peterson is a veteran American journalist who has currently been working as a morning anchor on TV6 since August 2020. She returned to the station after her first service as a reporter and anchor for TV6 News. Most recently, Peterson worked as a news producer and presenter for WNMU.
Elizabeth, who is originally from the Grand Rapids area, has resided in the Upper Peninsula for nearly 18 years. Elizabeth has worked in the television industry since she was a child. His grandmother, mother and aunt worked for television stations across the country in various capacities. Watching them, hearing their experiences and spending so much time behind the scenes inspired her to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.
Elizabeth participated Michigan State University, where he studied and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Journalism and Related Programs.
From 2005 to 2009, Elizabeth worked as a reporter and anchor for TV6’s Early News and News Tonight. She was also a morning producer and the first producer and anchor for FOX UP News at one point.

Elizabeth has worked as Executive Director for the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce, Northern Center Sales Manager at Northern Michigan University, and most recently as a producer and presenter for WNMU since her early stint at TV6.
Elizabeth has been lucky enough to work with some amazing people over the years, people who have helped her better understand the Upper Peninsula and its people.
She is proud to come back and bring those experiences back to TV6 and use them to help her in her new role as morning anchor. She always valued the news, but it never felt as vital as it does today.
Peterson enjoys trekking, hiking, traveling and spending as much time as he can with his family and friends exploring the great outdoors.
