On December 27, 1963, he married Mara del Refugio Abarca “Cuquita”, the sister of a close friend he met in his hometown. Vicente Jr., Gerardo and Alejandro were born from the marriage, and a fourth daughter, Alejandra, who was his niece, was adopted. They had 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren from their children. Several people accused him of being unfaithful throughout his life, which he always denied.
