Linda Lavin is an American singer and actress, best known for her role on the sitcom Alice. She is also known for her stage performances, on and off Broadway. In the 1950s, she joined the Compass Players and began acting on Broadway in the 1960s.
Lavin rose to fame after appearing in It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman. Furthermore, she received a Tony Award nomination for Last of the Red Hot Lovers. She later moved to Hollywood where she made recurring appearances on the sitcom Barney Miller. That was before she got the title role in the hit comedy Alice.
Furthermore, she attended Waynflete School and studied acting at HB Studio in New York. She later enrolled at the College of William & Mary, where she performed with the William and Mary Theater in many productions directed by long-time artists. Professor Howard Scammon.
