Jessica Formoso is an American journalist who currently works for Fox 5 News as a reporter since joining the station in August 2015. Prior to joining Fox 5, Jessica worked as a general bilingual reporter for News 12 networks, including News 12 En Español .
Jessica started her localized college in 2006 when she enrolled at Hofstra University, a private school located in Hempstead, New York, on Long Island. In college, Formoso joined the Hofstra News Now University student news organization.
Jessica worked as an anchor and reporter for the student-run network and spent much of her spare time producing weekly newscasts, writing news and organizing reports. In 2011, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a major in economics.
During his senior year of college, Formoso got a job as a production assistant at News 12 Long Island, a local station based in Woodbury. She worked as an assistant reporter, anchor and field producer. After her graduation, she continued working for News 12, this time on her Spanish channel, News 12 En Español. Jessica served the station as a bilingual producer, where she translated news from English into Spanish, produced web content and maintained the channel’s social media accounts.
For his work at the station, Formoso won the award for Best TV – General News from Jornalistas do Estado Jardim. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and has received recognition for her series on the American dream.
