Peter Kay is a renowned comedian from Great Britain who held a Guinness World Record position for his successful comedy tour. On the 2010/11 tour, Kay played to over 1.2 million people.

Peter was born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire, Europe. He often references his own hometown in his stand-up comedy. From an early age, Peter remembers how he liked to make people laugh.
He joined the University of Salford to study media performance. After graduating, he began working as a part-time stand-up comedian, later winning the North West Comedian of the Year award.

As for the series’ fictional protagonist, Geraldine McQueen, he released the single, The Winner’s Song, rising to number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.
His 2010-2011 stand-up comedy tour was officially incorporated into Guinness World Records as the best-selling song of all time. This single has gone up to over 1.2 million people. McQueen co-wrote and participated in Peter Kay’s Car Share, a BBC sitcom for two series from 2015-2017. He was also featured in the 2015 BBC sitcom Cradle to Grave.
In 20016, Kay won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, the BAFTA TV Award for Best Comedy with a Screenplay, and the National Television Award for Best Comedy for Car Share.
