Marina Hyde is an award-winning English journalist who has worked for The Guardian since 2000. She is one of the newspaper’s columnists writing three articles a week on current affairs, celebrities and even sports.
Furthermore, Hyde attended Downe House School near Newbury in Berkshire and read English at Christ Church, Oxford, England. However, Marina started her journalistic career as a temp secretary at the Showbiz desk at The Sun newspaper. She was later fired after it became known that she was exchanging emails with Piers Morgan, the editor of a rival newspaper, the Daily Mirror.
Hyde was nominated for Columnist of the Year at the 2010 British Press Awards. She also won two Sports Journalists Association (SJA) awards in February 2020. This included Sports Journalist of the Year, the first woman to receive the award in its 43 years of history.
