Paul Atterbury Biography
Paul Atterbury is a British antiques expert and television presenter who is well known for his appearance on the BBC antiques program Antique Roadshow. He has been at the station since 1979 and specializes in 19th and 20th century art, architecture, design and decorative arts.
Furthermore, he is also known as the son of Rowley Atterbury and Audrey Atterbury who worked on the 1950s children’s show Watch With Mother Andy Pandy for the BBC and who is alleged to have based the character’s appearances on those of his son.
Paul participated Westminster School and later enrolled in University of East Anglia where he developed graphic design. He later went to work for Sotheby Publications, where he served as a historical consultant for Royal Doulton. In 1980 and 1981 he was editor of the Connoisseur.
Later, Atterbury became a freelance writer, speaker, and broadcaster who wrote and edited over 30 books, mostly on ceramics. Paul is also known for his travel writing, where he wrote books on railroads and canals.
