Brittany Decker Biography
Brittany Decker is a renowned American news anchor and reporter who works at WVTM 13 in Birmingham as an anchor and weekend reporter. Decker is also a former beauty pageant who won the Miss Connecticut 2010 title and participated in the national Miss America pageant in Las Vegas.
Prior to joining NBC 13 News, Brittany was the weekday morning anchor for ABC40, Fox 6, CBS 3 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She also reported in the field and was a member of the First Warning Weather staff.
Decker also worked at WTNH-TV and MyTV 9 in New Haven, CT, where he won the 2011 “MyTV9 Star” contest shortly before joining WGGB. Furthermore, she won the Miss Connecticut 2010 title and participated in the national Miss American pageant in Las Vegas.
A native of Bristol, CT, Brittany is a proud graduate of Western New England University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass media communication. Recently, Decker completed courses at Mississippi State University for the broadcast meteorology program.
When not working, Brittany enjoys music. In western Massachusetts, Brittany was the singer of the acoustic duo called “Smith & Decker”. Furthermore, she enjoys travel, adventures, outdoor activities and staying active with Crossfit.
Decker has finished three full marathons and often pushes wheelchair athletes while running. Notably, she also completed century rides on her bicycle to show support for fallen officers. In recent years, Decker has traveled to Haiti with a team of doctors to run medical clinics in isolated villages across the country.
