Ashley Fruge is a veteran American journalist who currently works as a midday anchor for WBRZ News 2 and a traffic reporter for 2une Morning News. Fruge became the WBRZ traffic anchor in 2016 and developed the “wbrztraffic” Twitter account that currently has thousands of followers. Before joining the station, she worked as a traffic reporter for WWL-TV in New Orleans.
A native of New Orleans, Ashley attended and graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School. She then joined Loyola University where she received her degree. As a student at Loyola, Fruge received the “A. Louis Read Electronic Media Award” for outstanding journalistic work.
After graduating with a degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies, she got her first job at WLL-TV as a desk assistant, but quickly started as an on-air traffic reporter.
