Dan Roche is a renowned award-winning American sports anchor and reporter for WBZ-TV News and myTV38 (WSBK-TV). Roche joined WBZ-TV in October 2000 as a weekend sports anchor and reporter.
Dan was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and attended North Andover High School. He later graduated from Syracuse University.
Roche is currently a reporter for WBZ-TV and the top New England Patriots shows “Patriots All-Access” and “Patriots Gameday” and hosts the post-game show “Patriots 5th Quarter”. Additionally, he is a contributor to WBZ Newsradio 1030AM as well as 98.5 FM The Sports Hub, where he served as a presenter. He also runs his sports blog at cbsbostonsports.com.
Dan won a New England Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Series for “Red Sox This Week”, a half-hour Red Sox show that aired on myTV38 and WBZ-TV. He was also nominated twice for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Reporter in New England.

His personal list of memorable events he has covered includes the Patriots’ Super Bowl in 1996, the Pats’ 16-0 regular season perfect finish in NY against the Giants in 2007, the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox World Series Championships. .
Roche was the only Boston reporter to have access to and ride with the team on the ’04 Duck Boat Victory Parade. Furthermore, he covered the 17th Celtics World Championship for Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, and Los Angeles. Dan made three reporting trips from the White House with the Red Sox and Celtics. He also covered the Bruins’ run to the 2011 Stanley Cup title and was on the ice interviewing players, coaches and board members after Game 7 in Vancouver.
Dan was also the “pool reporter” for the Bruins Championship parade running the entire course and was in Albany, NY with the Boston College hockey team when they won the NCAA Championship 01. Notably, Dan was the only Boston TV reporter to visit the Hall with Dennis Eckersley and Wade Boggs shortly before their inductions. He led national coverage on the death of Ted Williams and the Cryogenics case; he enjoyed covering the Pesky Pole’s dedication to good friend Johnny Pesky.
