Patrick Mahomes is an American football player who plays quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL). He is also famous for being the son of former Major League Baseball player Pat Mahomes.
He attended Whitehouse High School in Texas, where he played baseball and basketball while still delving into football. After high school graduation, Mahomes joined Texas Tech University. He started his college football career in a game when he played against the ‘Oklahoma State Cowboys’ of Oklahoma State University. On his team, he was playing as a substitute for injured quarterback Davis Matthew Webb.
However, in his high school, Mahomes led the NCAA Division players in several attributes; passing yards (5,052 yards) and passing touchdowns (53 touchdowns) to name just a few. Patrick spent his rookie season as a substitute player for Alex Smith. Additionally, after the latter was sold to the Washington Redskins the following season, Mahomes was mentioned as a starter. The Kansas City Chiefs picked Mahomes 10th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he made his professional football debut and started against the Denver Broncos in December of that year. In 2018, he was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player after becoming only the second quarterback in NFL history to throw 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards in a single season. After leading the Chiefs to a 12-4 record, Mahomes became the first Chiefs player to win the league MVP award.
