Taryn Asher is a renowned American Emmy-winning journalist who currently serves as an anchor and reporter for Fox 2 News in Detroit, Michigan. Asher presents the show The Edge at 11pm alongside Huel Perkins. Prior to joining Fox 2 News, Taryn worked as a reporter and news anchor on WJRT ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan.
Asher was born and raised in Fenton, Michigan, and attended Powers Catholic High School in Flint. Later, she joined Michigan State University in 1993 and majored in Journalism and Political Science.
Since the age of eight, Asher has always dreamed of becoming a radio journalist. She is proof that dreams come true. Currently, Taryn works as an anchor during Fox 2 News weekdays at 6:30pm with Roop Taj and The Edge at 11pm with Huel Perkins. The two are good friends and colleagues.
