Robert Goulston Biography
Robert Goulston is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist who has currently served as a general reporter for the Boston 25 since January 2015. Prior to joining the Boston 25, Robert worked as the head of the New Haven Bureau for WFSB-TV (CBS) in Connecticut.
He also provided live reporting for CNN and CBS national special coverage with Norah O’Donnell. In addition, he has contributed to national and international media on several of the region’s high-profile incidents, such as the Stamford chimpanzee attack. He was also the first to verify and confirm the suspect’s name in the murder of Yale graduate student Annie Le, and was the only television reporter to cover the two capital trials in the Cheshire home invasion.
During a three-year stint at the WTVF in Nashville, he was part of the top-ranked morning team as a reporter and substitute anchor. It was on this channel that he won an Emmy for “Underwater Warriors,” documenting a program in the Caribbean that offers therapeutic diving experiences to recent war veterans. Robert was also the first to report on NFL quarterback Steve McNair’s DUI, both on the WTVF and WJZ in Baltimore.
Prior to working in Tennessee, he served at WZZM’s Lake Shore office in Grand Rapids, MI, where he was assigned due to his love of water. Prior to that, he began his career as an affiliate reporter in Salisbury, MD, home to Perdue’s headquarters.
The son of a police officer from Quincy, MA, he studied criminal justice at Northeastern University. He began working for the Federal Investigative Services before graduation. After 4 years as an investigator, doing background checks in Washington, he made his way to television on America’s Most Wanted. While there, he rose through the ranks due to his hard work and creativity.
