Thomas Drayton biography
Thomas Drayton is an American television personality currently serving as the co-host of Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29. He returned to broadcasting in October 2016 after working as an anchor and reporter in several cities including; New York, Denver, Sacramento, Anchorage and Colorado Springs. Previously, he worked at Fox 29 News at Five and at Fox News at Ten during period between 2008-2013.
Drayton partially spent his childhood in the Delaware Valley, where he attended Marcus Newcomb Middle School in Pemberton Township, NJ Thomas later joined Pepperdine University to earn a BA in Telecommunications.
Thanks to the excellent work, he received several awards and honors. To name just the most notable of the list, we have the; National Association of Broadcasters Awards for Outstanding News Anchor, Outstanding News Producer and Outstanding Investigative Reporting.
Other accolades include the National Association of Black Journalists Award, the Associated Press Recognition for local and national reporting, and the NAACP’s Recognition and Commitment to the Community. Furthermore, Thomas received thirteen Emmy nominations.
Through his partnership with several NP Os (Non-Profit Organizations), Thomas supports a number of projects, including working closely with families in need and people living with HIV/AIDS. So far, he has established three academic scholarships for less fortunate children in the community.
Previously, Drayton served as Sacramento’s Vice President for the National Academy of Arts and Sciences. In this position, he launched an additional academic scholarship for minority students interested in broadcasting careers.
