Jovita Moore is an American journalist who currently hosts (5pm, 6pm and 11pm) on Channel 2, WSB-TV Action News. Since 1998, when she joined the broadcast, Moore has received multiple Emmy awards.
Born and raised in New York, United States, Jovita attended Columbia University’s School of Journalism. She graduated with a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism. Furthermore, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont.
In 1990, Jovita began her career as a news reporter at KFMS-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She then worked for WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee for three years. Moore currently broadcasts the daily news on WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Whenever she is not broadcasting, Jovita is always reporting especially during the week.
Outside of WSB-TV, Moore is a busy lady who has made a big contribution to civic associations and nonprofits in Metro, Atlanta. Additionally, she mentors students while serving on various boards of directors.
Moore is also an important member of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists. In addition to her leadership, she is a member of the Outstanding Atlanta’s Class of 2004 and the Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2007.
In 2007, she appeared on Georgia Trend Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list, later receiving a nomination as one of Jezebel Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful.
