David Ignatius biography
David Ignatius is an American journalist and novelist who currently works as an associate editor and columnist for The Washington Post. Inácio is a certified writer and has written eleven novels. One of his novels is The Body of Lies. On the other hand, he is a former adjunct professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Future of Diplomacy Program.
Ignatius attended St Albans School and later attended harvard college, where he graduated magna cum laude in the class of 1973. He was awarded a Frank Knox Scholarship by the Harvard University. he studied in King’s College, where he majored in economics.
After his education, he was editor of the Washington Monthly before moving to The Wall Street Journal. He spent ten years as a reporter there. In the Journal, he first covered the steel industry in Pittsburgh. He later moved to Washington, where he covered the Department of Justice. He also covered the CIA and the Senate. In addition, he was the newspaper’s Middle East correspondent from 1980 to 1983. During this period, he covered the wars in Lebanon and Iraq.

He served as assistant editor-in-chief in charge of business news from 1993 to 1999. Additionally, he began writing a twice-weekly column on global politics, economics, and international affairs in 1999.
In 2000, he became the executive editor of the International Herald Tribute. He returned to the Post in 2002. This was after the Post sold its stake in the Herald Tribute. He continued to write his column once a week during his tenure at the Herald Tribute. Most notably, his column is distributed worldwide by The Washington Post Writers Group. Additionally, the column won the 2000 Gerald Loeb Award.
His coverage of the CIA was criticized as defensive and overly positive. In addition, he supported the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. On several occasions, however, he has criticized the CIA and US government’s approach to intelligence. He wrote an article in the Washington Post about the crisis in Ukraine and how the world will deal with Putin’s actions. This was on March 26, 2014.
