Keith Olbermann Biography
Keith Olbermann is an American journalist who started his career as an announcer for WHTR while still a high school student. He entered Cornell University at age 16 and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
After graduating, he joined UPI, then RKO and WNEW New York until CNN found him in 1981. Olbermann became a sports anchor in Boston on WCVB-TV in 1984. He later joined KTLA-TV and later moved to KCBS-TV. While in California, Keith received 11 Golden Mike Awards for Best Sportsman and Best Sportsman. He was also named Sportscaster of the Year three times.
In 1992, he was part of the team that launched ESPN Radio. Along with Dan Patrick, they worked together until 1997 in what would become their “signature” role at ESPN SportsCenter. After that, he moved to MSNBC, where he hosted “The Big Show with Keith Olbermann”. Furthermore, he worked for Fox as the host of the station’s baseball studio show on the Saturday before the game.
However, he left Fox in 2001 and joined ABC Radio. After that, Keith worked for several other stations. He is currently a podcast host, hosting Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Olbermann is also an avid baseball historian who has a collection of at least 35,000 baseball cards.
