Katie George is an American journalist who currently works as a sports announcer for ACC Network and ESPN. Before starting her broadcasting career, she was a three-time selection of all volleyball conferences at the University of Louisville and was crowned Miss Kentucky USA in 2015.
George attended Asuncion Secondary School, an all-girls Catholic school in Louisville. While there, she played on the volleyball team. After high school, she attended the University of Louisville, where she also played volleyball for the Louisville Cardinals women’s volleyball team.
During her college volleyball career, she played on teams that won regular season championships or tournaments in three different conferences. Her final two years of college play in 2014 and 2015 were the U of L’s first two as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Furthermore, she was the first all-ACC team in 2014 and 2015. Most notably, she graduated from the magna cum laude school with a degree in communication and a major in sports administration.

After graduating, she began her career in pageantry in late 2015 after being crowned Miss Kentucky USA in 2015. The competition was held at Raising Cane’s River Center Arena in Baton Rouge on July 12, 2015. She advanced to the semifinals as a member of the top fifteen and then won the fan vote to advance to the top eleven.
Most notably, she started a career as a sports announcer after completing her bachelor’s degree. She was hired as a reporter at WDRB, a local station in Louisville, Kentucky. She later joined Fox Sports Wisconsin where she covered the 2018 and 2019 NBA seasons. This was before joining ACC Network in 2019 and she also covered some college football games for ESPN.
