Kathleen Bade is an American journalist who has currently served as a prime-time anchor for FOX5 News since the station’s launch in 2008. She presents the news from seasons 5, 6, 10 and 23 hours on weekdays. Additionally, she has been a force in the San Diego news market, anchoring the #1 news and covering top news and events from the opening of Petco Park to leading election coverage and presenting news specials in high-profile court cases. .
Most notably, she started her broadcasting career after graduating from Arizona State University with honors from the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Telecommunications and Journalism. Bade was the first student in college history to win the coveted William Randolph Hearst Award in San Francisco.

Bade’s impact was immediate, transforming the program into one of the main competitors in the market in just three years. After the birth of her son, KFMB Channel 8 brought her to San Diego. She was thrilled to escape the heat and work for CBS for seven years.
During that time, Bade helped put a registry of children into loving homes through his work with San Diego County Adoptions. She later returned to the San Diego airwaves in 2008 with the release of FOX 5 San Diego. Kathleen considers her time on FOX5 the most satisfying of her career.
