Kristi Capel is an American journalist who works as a presenter for FOX 8. Capel began her television career as a co-anchor and TV reporter for KSPR Springfield 33 News, an ABC affiliate. For much of 2006, Capel also worked as a radio personality on 99 Hit FM and 1340 AM KADI.
Capel received his education at heritage school, a church school associated with the Assemblies of God, formerly known as the World Assemblies of God. She later graduated in 2001. Eventually, through a tennis scholarship, she attended Evangelical University. There, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting and Public Relations in 2005.
In 2005, she won the Miss Missouri pageant in the United States. Prior to that, she had completed her senior year in the top 15 of the Miss Kentucky USA pageant. At the Miss United States pageant held in Baltimore in 2006, she represented Missouri. She wasn’t at the top, unfortunately.

Kristi moved to Missouri in 2001 to attend Evangel University on a volleyball scholarship, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and communication as well as public relations. After graduating from college, she was crowned Miss Missouri USA in 2006 and had the honor of representing Missouri in the Miss USA 2006 pageant.
Kristi completed a second internship at KSPR News in Springfield, Missouri, where she began her first job as a reporter during her senior year. She started her weather career as a weekend weather anchor at KSPR after covering fires, local events and accidents for a short time because they desperately needed one. She later became a morning and lunchtime weather forecaster in northeast and central Pennsylvania.
Kristi joined the Fox 8 News Cast in January 2011 and began serving as the Morning News anchor replacing Tracy McCool, who moved to the 5 PM News at night on Fox 8 later. She serves on the side Wayne Dawson and Stefani Schaefer to anchor the morning news.
