Shawn Yancy is an American Emmy-winning journalist who currently serves as an evening anchor on the NBC 4 News Channel based in Washington, District of Columbia. Despite serving as an anchor, she also contributes as a special report reporter. Yancy joined the station’s staff in January 2021.
Previously, Shawn worked at WTTG-TV, Washington-based Fox 5 News as a news anchor. She co-hosted the 6pm, 6:30pm, 8pm, 10am and 11pm news on the station. Yancy joined the station in September 2001 and left in September 2020.
Furthermore, Yancy owns The Bangle, an online jewelry and accessories boutique. She opened the store in November 2012. Shawn started her career as a journalist at WTAE Hearst Pittsburgh as an anchor and reporter from 1996 until she left the station in August 2001.
