Skeng’s biography
Skeng is a Jamaican dancehall musician, singer and songwriter. His real name is Kevon Douglas. He was recently arrested at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. He was removed from a flight and was charged with disorderly behavior and resisting arrest. On June 21, 2022, he was released on bail and asked to appear before the court in Kingston and St Andrew.
During his arrest, his lawyer said that a security officer behaved in a rude manner, to which Skeng replied that there was no need for the police officer to behave that way. He said the matter was an abuse of power and that his client felt abused and threatened by airport security.
Furthermore, he started his music career in 2019 when he openly expressed his love for music and arts. He is a well known DJ in the music industry due to his music. As a young man, he dreamed of being a journalist, but later abandoned that idea as it involved too much conversation. His passion was influenced by an ongoing musical battle between Gully’s Mavado and Vybz Kartell from Gaza. After this musical battle, he recorded his music in a New Kingston studio and later recorded over 30 songs.
Skeng is popularly known for hitting the 2021 single Gunman Shift. Furthermore, his most popular tracks are Brrp and Street Card. During his growth, he attended several schools. He studied at Sen Simon Basic School, St. George College and Wolmer’s High School for boys. Many people wondered why he attended various schools, and while speaking to a news outlet, he explained that:
In the third form, I became a bit rebellious and wanted to do things my own way. I got into trouble and was transferred to St. George. After that, I remained carefree and had to move to a Spanish city. That time was very challenging.
