Marc Cota-Robles is an American journalist who currently works as a general reporter and deputy anchor for ABC 7 Eyewitness News. He joined the station in June 2014. A native of Orange County, Marc graduated from Chapman University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in broadcast television journalism.
While working at ABC7, Cota-Robles reported on several breaking stories, including the mass shooting in Las Vegas, the aftermath of the landslide in Montecito, and the destructive Thomas Fire in Ventura.
Previously, Marc worked for nearly eight years at KION-TV, a CBS affiliate in Salinas, California. While at KION, he served in various roles, including an evening news anchor, starting in 2010. Additionally, the station won three consecutive Northern California Regional Emmy Awards for Outstanding News (Small Market).
Additionally, in 2012, her anchor duties extended to KION’s sister stations KCOY 12 and KKFX FOX 11 located in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California. Marc began his career in 2006 as an anchor for a morning paper on KVII-TV in Amarillo.
Prior to joining the broadcast news industry, Cota-Robles drove open-wheel racing cars, competing in the Pro Mazda National Championship. In addition, he remains an avid motorsport fan and has participated in the Indianapolis 500 annually since 1993.
