Kevin Harlan is a renowned American television and radio sportscaster. The son of former Green Bay Packers executive Bob Harlan, Harlan broadcasts NFL, NBA and college basketball games on CBS and is an NBA play-by-play announcer on TNT. Harlan served as the voice of Westwood One Radio’s Final Four coverage until 2018.
Harlan began his career in 1982 as the TV and radio voice for the NBA Kansas City Kings. During his college life, he showed an interest in anchoring and also worked as a basketball announcer during his graduate school.
He worked for ESPN from 1992 to 1993 and joined the FOX channel in 1994. He also became the announcer for the NFL from 1994 to 1997. Harlan covered NBA playoff games and also worked as an announcer for Turner Sports. He later joined CBS in 1998 and worked there as a play-by-play announcer.
Furthermore, Harlan was hired as a basketball announcer for the Goodwill Games in the same year. He has covered a variety of Bowl games, Green Bay Packers preseason games on WBBM-TV, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and many more.
In 2009, he began serving as the main play-by-play announcer for “Monday Night Football” on Westwood One Radio, covering Super Bowl XLV.
In addition to his journalistic work, he has provided his voice in the “2K” series of NBA video games since 2006. He has provided his voice in the video game “NFL QB Club 2002” for Acclaim Sports.
