Biography of Mark Carcasole
Mark Carcasole is a Canadian journalist who has currently worked as a news reporter at Global News Toronto since joining the station in August 2012. He brings his enthusiasm for current affairs and politics to Global Toronto’s News Hour.
Talking about his education, he attended and graduated from Humber College in 2005 with a degree in Broadcasting. Prior to that, he obtained a degree in Digital Media Technical Production from Seneca College. After graduating from Humber College, he started his career right away. He started out working as an anchor and reporter for NewsTalk 1010.
After working at NewsTalk 1010 for a period of 7 years and 4 months, Mark left the station in 2012 and joined his current station (Global News Toronto) as a general reporter and weekend news anchor.
As part of the Global Toronto team, he covered hard-hitting stories including the death of a child at an unlicensed Toronto daycare in 2014, among other heartbreaking stories. In his career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, he received the Edward R. Murrow Award for Spot News Coverage for Caledonia Standoff in 2017.
Additionally, he received three New York Festival Awards in 2007-2008, two for Best Breaking News Coverage and one for Caledonia Standoff and the Jordan Manners Murder. When he’s off duty, he likes to make music at his home and loves movies. He is also a huge fan of hokey, Carcasole plays and watches whenever he can.
