Mike Drolet is a Canadian journalist who currently works as a Toronto correspondent for Global National. For the past 12 years he has worked in newsrooms in southern Ontario and Quebec. He covered floods and fires in the province, Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath in New Orleans, and Canadian soldiers on the front lines in Afghanistan.
Talking about his education, he attended and graduated from the University of Western Ontario, and decided to move to Wingham where his career began. He then moved to Windsor, Montreal, and now Toronto. Mike reported on natural disasters, including the 2010 Haiti earthquake. One of his best career highlights was when he covered the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
More recently, he was on the scene when Canadians expressed shock at the unprecedented attack on Parliament in Ottawa. The attack left two people dead. Additionally, he followed the story to Hamilton to cover the funeral and procession between the provinces. When he’s off duty, he loves snowboarding, hockey and traveling.
