Ken Olin biography
Ken Olin is an American actor, television director and producer known for his role as Michael Steadman on the ABC drama series Thirtysomething. He even received a Golden Global Award nomination for Best Actor-Drama in a Television Series in 1990 for his role as Steadman in Thirtysomething.
As a producer, he produced Alias, Brothers & Sisters and This Is Us (2016-2022). Talking about his education, he attended and graduated from The Putney School in 1972. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania where he completed his college career.
Olin is one of the oldtimers when he started appearing on television in the late 1970s. His first series regular role was on NBC’s short-lived dramedy Bay City Blues. He later joined the cast of the NBC crime drama Hill Street Blues, playing Detective Harry Garibaldi. In addition, he starred in Murder, She Wrote and Hotel.
In 1996, he played a lead role in the short-lived CBS crime drama EZ Streets, and from 1998 to 1999, Olin played the lead role in LA Doctors. In the 2000s, he had a recurring role alongside Patricia Wettig on the ABC drama series Brothers Sisters from 2007 to 2011. From 2015 to 2017 he had a recurring role on the CBS drama series Zoo.
Most recently, in 2020, ABC ordered a sequel to Thirtysomething, and Ken is set to return alongside Mel Harris, Timothy Busfield and Patricia Wettig. As a producer, he executive produced several television dramas in the 2000s and 2010s. Some of his producing credits include Breaking News, The Mob Doctor and Sleepy Hollow.
