Serayah (born Serayah Ranee McNeill) is an American actress, model, and singer famous for her role as singer Tiana Brown on Empire. Born in Encinitas, California, she attended and graduated from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California. While there, she played for the varsity girls’ basketball team in 2013.
Her role as Tiana on Empire was her first major acting role. In an interview with Black Enterprise, she said about her role: “One thing I always say about this show is that it’s a lot of drama, but it’s a family drama that people can relate to. Every family has some kind of drama, and I think that affects the entertainment and music business a lot. Some over the top parts, but it really touches on some of the things that happen.”
Serayah was added as a regular cast on August 26, 2015. Recently, in March 2022, she joined the cast of Black Mafia Family in a recurring role. Talking about her music career, she featured in Taylor Swift’s song “Bad Blood”. She later performed a version of her song “Style” on July 18, 2015, alongside McNeill.
