Sarah Abo is a well-known Syrian-Australian journalist, reporter and television presenter. Currently, she works as a reporter for Nine Network’s 60 Minutes. Abo is also the co-host of the Today shows alongside Karl Stefanovic. Furthermore, she has worked for various channels such as SBS World News Australia and CNN.
She was born in Damascus, Syria, but raised in Melbourne, Australia. She attended school at a local high school in her hometown and later enrolled at Monash University. There she graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism. Shortly after university, Sarah was hired to work in the Network 10 newsroom in Adelaide, where she served as a production and archival assistant. She later joined Ten News as a reporter where she worked for five years. In 2013, Abo moved to SBS Television as a host and reporter on shows such as SBS World News, Dateline, Insight and Small Business Secrets.
Furthermore, she also worked at CCN in Atlanta. Since joining the Nine Network in 2019 as a reporter for 60 Minutes, abo has been regularly filled in as the co-host of Nine’s breakfast show, Today. More recently, she was selected to moderate the second debate between leaders Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese. Sarah also covered the US Presidential Election for SBS News in 2016. She was also instrumental in the inclusion of the SBS telecaster in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
