Justin Holbrock biography
Justin Holbrock is an American sports reporter currently a digital sports reporter at NBC4 since joining the station in October 2019. Prior to joining NBC4, Justin worked as a sports reporter and anchor at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia for two and a half years.
Justin graduated Summa Cum Laude from the EW Scripps School of Journalism in Ohio University with a BA in Journalism and a specialization in Political Science.
While still in college, Justin worked as a writer for Backdrop Magazine between November 2015 and December 2016. He contributed three stories to Backdrop Magazine, a campus magazine that produces four issues each school year. For example, he wrote a cover story on Ohio men’s basketball coach Saul Phillips and a player profile on Nick Kellogg, who played basketball at Ohio University and now plays professionally abroad.
Afterwards, he joined WCMH, NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio, as an intern in the sports department. At that time, Holbrock helped sports reporters edit videos, write scripts, and conduct interviews.
Justin also worked at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia as a multimedia journalist and sports anchor. He worked at the network until October 2019, when he joined NBC4 as a digital sports reporter.
While working in Columbus, Justin covered athletics for Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama. He also had the chance to covet some of the biggest sporting events in the country, including the Masters, the 2018 National College Football Championship, the Iron Bowl, the 2018 MLS Cup, and the 2018 SEC Championship.
Holbrock’s most memorable moment in the South came while covering the Auburn basketball team’s historic run in Final 4 and the celebration that followed on campus at Toomer’s Corner.
During his free time, Justin enjoys traveling to new places, watching sports, reading outdoors, and watching the latest movies.
