Simone Cuccurullo is an American journalist who currently works as a weekend anchor and reporter at ABC7. A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, she holds a BA in broadcast journalism. Most notably, she came to Southwest Florida in September 2017 as a journalist and media reporter.
She nailed it with her first field mission: Hurricane Irma. During the storm, she has the opportunity to meet many people in the Community. Her favorite memory was helping a woman donate a generator to an assisted living facility in need.
Before coming to Fort Myers, she spent two years in Erie, Pennsylvania, as a weekend morning anchor for WICU. She helped launch a new weekend morning news show that was #1 on the market. In addition, she interned at TUTV, where she played a key role in producing, reporting and anchoring the station’s newscasts.
