Norman Seawright III is an American sports journalist currently working as a Weekend Sports Anchor at WCCO | CBS Minnesota. Seawright joined WCCO from WOWK-TV in Charleston, West Virginia, where he served as a sports anchor and reporter.
Born in Indiana, Norman grew up as a sports fan and found his passion for sports in Ole Miss Athletics. When not on screen, Norman served as a magazine writer and photographer, writing for the high school newspaper, producing news and calling basketball games for WNAS-TV at Floyd Central High School.
Norman graduated in broadcast journalism with a major in Spanish from the University of Mississippi. He later graduated from Syracuse University with a master’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism.
After graduation, Seawright joined Ole Miss Sports as a reporter and sports announcer intern. As of May 2013, she joined WLKY-32, Louisville, Kentucky Area as an intern. Norman was a Meredith-Cronkite Fellow at Arizona State University.
To gain more experience, Norman interned at WSYR in Syracuse, New York and at KARE 11 in Minneapolis as a sports intern. In December 2014, he landed his first job at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota Area as an anchor and weekend reporter.
Norman then had his last stint before joining WCCO on WOWk-Tv, where he worked as a sports anchor and reporter. After spending 3 years at the station, he moved to Minneapolis to join the WCCO as a weekend sports anchor. Seawright has been serving CBS Minnesota since June 2019.
