Jessica Burch is a renowned American meteorologist who currently serves as a weather anchor for KPIX 5 since May 2022. She has served as a weekly meteorologist on KRCR News Channel 7 in Northern California and as an Army Aviation Officer in the California National Guard. Furthermore, Jessica interned at WKMG News 6 for five months.
Bron and raised in Las Vegas, where the weather is famous for being hot and dry year-round, she developed a love for the weather and climate science from an early age. She then began working on her private pilot’s license at age 15.
Burch studied meteorology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She also did ROTC and was commissioned as an Army officer in 2019. Her two passions; aviation and weather go hand in hand very well. She also cites that “as a military pilot, I know that lives can depend on an accurate forecast”.
Currently, Burch is a 1LT in the California Army National Guard, flying Blackhawk helicopters in a Sacramento-based MEDEVAC Unit. She cherishes serving her country and participating in the state mission.
