Bill Winston is an American televangelist, preacher, author, entrepreneur, and founder and senior pastor of Living Word Christian Center. He is the founder and senior pastor of Living Word Christian Center, a non-denominational church in Forest Park, Illinois with over 22,000 members.
Winston’s teachings, writings, weekly television and radio programs are shared through his ministry, Bill Winston Ministries, and broadcast worldwide through his distributed program, Believer’s Walk of Faith. Winston’s sermons are also delivered on various radio networks across the United States. In January 1973, Winston joined IBM Corporation as a merchant. In IBM’s Midwest region, he was then promoted to Regional Marketing Manager. In 1988, while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Winston and his wife started a small ministry. They traveled to Chicago every weekend to fund a two-day Crusade of Faith; less than 20 people participated. By December 1988, Winston had moved to Chicago with his family. He started a Bible study academy, with services held at the Chicago Quality Inn Hotel in Madison and Halsted Streets. It became the Living Word Church of Chicago in 1989. The name was changed to Living Word Christian Center in 1990.
From 1994 to 1997, the church leased space for services at Chez Roué Banquet Hall in Forest Park, Illinois. A 33-acre shopping mall, Forest Park Mall, was purchased as the ministry grew, and on New Year’s Eve in 1997, the church held its first service at the mall. Since then, the church and its worship facilities have evolved into a multi-million-dollar worship center that is state-of-the-art. The church auditorium is notable for its advanced architectural style.
