Lauren Johnson’s biography
Lauren Johnson is an Emmy-nominated American journalist who has served as a news anchor for the weekend editions of “Good Day Philadelphia” as well as a weekday reporter. Prior to joining Fox 29, Lauren worked as a weekend anchor for “Good Day Orlando” on WOFL Fox 35, the Fox affiliate in Orlando, Florida.
Lauren attended Woodland Academy for high school between 1996 and 1999. Immediately after her high school graduation, Lauren entered Furman University to earn a bachelor’s degree in communication studies.
In 2001, Lauren interned at ABC News while still attending Furman University. She worked under the producer’s leadership for Good Morning America and 20/20.
Lauren began her television career on the Central Florida News 13 in 2003. In her work as a reporter, Johnson also worked behind the camera to investigate and capture popular attractions across the state on a show called “Florida on a Thankful”.
After spending four years at News 13, Lauren moved to the Memphis metro area in February 2007 and joined WHBQ FOX13 News as a reporter. After working for the station for nearly four years as a reporter, Lauren was promoted to serve as the station’s AM weekday anchor reporter and also a fill-in anchor.
In August 2012, Lauren joined Fox 35 Orlando WOFL-Tv as an anchor and reporter. She anchored the weekend morning news and replaced other newscasts as needed.
After spending two years at Fox 35 News, Lauren moved to Philadelphia and joined Fox 29 as an anchor and reporter. Mrs. Johnson anchored and produced Good Day Philadelphia over the Saturday and Sunday morning weekend from 7 am to 9 am. In April 2021, Lauren left Fox 29
