Charley Belcher is a three-time Emmy-winning American reporter, currently working for Fox 13 News in Tampa Bay. Belcher’s stories air Monday through Friday morning on the Good Day Tampa Bay segment called “Charley’s World.”
Charley was born and raised in Ft. Myers and grew up in the Tampa Bay area, specifically Pasco County. He then attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he received his degree in broadcasting.
Before moving to Sunshine State, Charley worked as a reporter for WIVK radio and WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. He returned to his hometown and joined FOX 13 in January 1998.
Charley won three Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards for her reporting during her service. His first Emmy was for a series of features following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NFC Championship game in St. Louis in 2000.
Belcher’s second Emmy was in 2015, after profiling famed photographer Bud Lee. And his third Emmy was awarded for a feature film he made about a butterfly farmer in St. Petersburg.
