Livinia Nixon Biography
Livinia Nixon is an Australian television presenter and actress who currently serves as the chief weather presenter for Nine News Melbourne. She attended and graduated from the Lauriston Girls’ School. She later attended Deakin University where she studied and graduated.
She began her television career in 1995 in an advertisement for Physical Skim Milk. Livinia then joined GTV-9 in 1997. She also appeared on the children’s show Plucka’s Place in 1997 before moving to the iconic Australian show Hey Hey It’s Saturday and officially joining the show in 1997 as a co-host. However, the show was canceled in 1999.
She also worked in radio on the Nova 100 in Melbourne. Furthermore, she organized the change of direction on TT FM with Ed Phillips for 18 months. During this time, she developed her on-air relationship with Phillips. This led to them hosting the revamped version of Sale of the Century called Temptation. She also appeared on Today.
Nixon has also recorded stories for Gateway from Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia. In 2009, she appeared in both Hey Hey It’s Saturday reunion specials. Since 2004, she has been the lead weekday weather presenter for Nine News Melbourne. In 2011, she replaced Jaynie Seal as the weather presenter for Nine Afternoon News. In July 2020, she joined Nine Radio to host the weekend breakfast on 2UE 954, Magic 1278, 4BH 882 and 6GT DAB+.
Nine announced that she will be performing Carols by Candelight with David Campbell in November 2020. Due to COVID-19, it was announced that she would be performing with Eddie McGuire.
