Philip Rucker is an American journalist and author who has served as the White House bureau chief at The Washington Post since 2005. He graduated in 2002 from St. Andrew’s School in Savannah, Georgia. While there, he was an orator.
The school awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017. He later continued his education at Yale University and received a history degree in 2006. While at that university, he worked for the Yale Daily News as a reporter and editor.
After his career, he was promoted to Chief of Staff at the White House in 2014. Rucker covered the entire Trump administration for the Post, as well as Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.
