Brad Johansen biography
Brad Johansen is an American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter for NBC4’s nightly news, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining NBC4, Johansen served as an anchor and night reporter for WRAL-TV, an NBC-affiliated television station located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States of America.
Brad participated Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and joined the WEEK-TV staff in his freshman year. After graduation, he spent time in Lansing, MI, San Luis Obispo, CA and Las Vegas, NV before moving to Cincinnati in 1992.
From 1996 to 2014, Johansen was sporting director for WKRC-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was announcing the Bengals preseason games. Also, in 2000, he moved to the radio booth, replacing Arbogast, who is the voice of the USC Trojans women’s football and basketball shows. He held that position before calling the Bengals broadcasts.
On May 4, 2011, the Bengals announced that they had hired Dan Hoard as the new Bengals radio play-by-play announcer, replacing Brad Johansen. Additionally, on July 6, it was announced that Johansen had been hired to replace Paul Keels. As the play-by-play TV announcer for the Bengals pre-season games.
In 2014, Brad moved from being the sports director and play-by-play announcer for the CBS Sports Network to anchor the 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm news on the WKRC. However, he left WKRC-TV in April 2018 to join WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina as an anchor and reporter for the nightly news.
Furthermore, on March 6, 2020, Brad returned to television, working as an anchor and reporter for NBC4’s nightly news, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
