Julian Crews biography
Julian Crews is an American journalist who currently works as a general reporter for WGN-TV Midday News and WGN Evening News. He has worked as a reporter for WGN News since joining the station in 1996. On the station, Crews is also a reporter and producer for WGN America’s Cruisin’ Illinois and Wisconsin. He is also a news reporter, feature and Midwest Travel for the station.
Julian graduated from University of Houston Bachelor in English Literature and specializing in Radio-TV Communication. He then got his first job in August 1988 as a writer for Revista Hispânica.
Jilian has reported across Illinois, from the Shawnee National Forest of Carbondale to City Hall in Chicago, covering breaking news and reports. He travels to all corners of the Chicagoland and Illinois area, bringing the day’s news to WGN and CLTV Viewers.
Over the course of the year, Crews has had a variety of roles, from the “Around Town” beat to politics and crime, producing in-depth investigative pieces on Chicago street gangs and organized crime. Notably, his coverage of John Paul II’s visit to Cuba in 1998 was especially gratifying for Julian.

Prior to joining WGN, Julian worked as a reporter at WVEC-TV (ABC) between July 1992 and April 1996. He also worked as a reporter at KHOU-TV News (CBS) from September 1988 to June 1992. On the station, he reported and produced for the magazine’s weekly program “First-Sunday”.
