Melissa Wilson is an American journalist who currently anchors the FOX 26 Morning News weekdays. She is also a medical reporter for FOX 26. Through her work, Melissa won an Emmy Award for her outstanding performance as a presenter.
Wilson co-anchored the FOX 26 News at 9pm. for ten years, becoming part of FOX 26’s longest-serving anchor crew. In 2010, she switched to mornings when her son started school and needed ‘mother-friendly work hours’.
A native of Texas, Melissa graduated from baylor youuniversity with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. She then began her career as an evening anchor on KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls and later went on to anchor the Florida News Channel. She was named one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Houston” by Houston Woman Magazine.
Additionally, American Women in Radio and Television nominated Melissa for “Person of the Year”. Melissa also received the prestigious “Gracie Award” and the Lone Star Emmy Awards. Wilson has also volunteered for the Christian Community Service Center and is a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists.
