
Biography of Carson Wentz
Carson Wentz is an American football quarterback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. He is one of only six QBs in NFL history to record more than 20 TD passes and 10 or fewer INTs in three consecutive seasons. Wentz played college football in North Dakota, where he won five NCAA FCS national championships. Wentz was subsequently selected second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, making him the highest-drafted player in the FCS.
He graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in health and physical education. At the University, Wentz was named Academic All-American of the Year towards the end of his college football career. He then signed a four-year contract with the team. In his first week of professional football, Carson was officially named a starter and also the ‘Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week’.
Wentz was signed by the ‘Philadelphia Eagles’ in the first round of the 2016 ‘NFL Draft’ as the second overall pick. This was a four-year contract for $26.67 million – plus a $17.6 million bonus to play for the team. However, he suffered a rib injury in a preseason game, although he was still fit enough to play that year’s regular season.
Carson was then officially named the starter and made his debut against the ‘Cleveland Browns’ in September 2016. He was further named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the seventh week of the 2017 season and was a contender for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player. . Unfortunately, Carson suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the field for the rest of the season. He was also selected to his first ‘Pro Bowl’ but was unable to play due to knee surgery.
Currently, Carson is one of the most valuable players in the ‘Philadelphia Eagles’. He has a bright future ahead of him considering he’s still young and energetic.
