Scott Swan biography
Scott Swan is an American journalist who presents the 5 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm news for Channel 13News. He joined WTHR in 2002. Previously, Swan worked at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, KITV-TV in Honolulu, KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, KHJ-TV in Los Angeles and Disneyland Broadcast Services.
Swan joined WTRH in 2002. In his service at the station, Scott was honored with the 2018 National Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists and two National Headliner Awards. Furthermore, he won the Emmy Awards for Best Anchor through his WTRH service and was honored by the Indiana Associated Press as “Best Reporter”.
Scott toured the world and won multiple Emmy Awards for his coverage of the Olympics. Furthermore, he has landed many exclusives during his WTHR career. For example, he was the only Indianapolis reporter to interview former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson at his home in Las Vegas. He conducted the first television interview with John Mellencamp before the musician launched his “No Better Than This” tour. Scott also interviewed Henry Lee Summer, an Indiana rocker, who described his drug addiction.
During his spare time, Swan hosts a wide variety of events, serves at Lamplighter Ministry Inc. in Indianapolis and gives his testimony to church groups. He is a proud graduate of Pepperdine University, graduating in 1985 with a degree in broadcast journalism.
