Walter Allen is an American journalist who currently serves as a news anchor for Fox 13 News since joining the station in March 2014. Allen is an anchor for Good Day Tampa Bay from 4 am to 7 am on weekdays.
Walter was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, United States, and studied in Mile High City at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. He spent two semesters interning at KCNC before starting his broadcasting career in 2007 at KCWY, the NBC affiliate in Casper, Wyoming.
Allen is a multi-talented journalist with anchoring, reporting and production skills. While working at the NBC affiliate in Casper, Wyoming, Walter was named Best Reporter and Anchor Person of the Year by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.
After spending three years in Wyoming, Walter moved east and accepted a position as a general reporter in Columbus, Ohio, on ABC/FOX station WSYX. His position as a reporter led to co-anchoring opportunities in 2011 on WSYX.
During Allen’s two-year stay in Columbus, Walter covered last-minute events and spent valuable time behind the anchor’s desk. Buckeye State experiences helped him land a position as a weekend morning and reporting co-anchor at WISH in Indianapolis, Indiana.
