Aimee Lou Wood is an English actress who made her screen debut in the Netflix series Sex Education as Aimee Gibbs. This role earned her a British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance with two nominations. Prior to this role, she performed on stage in Mary Stuart and People, Places, and Things.
Additionally, Lou received award nominations for his role in the play Uncle Vanya (2020) and for appearing in the films The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021) and Living (2022). After her parents divorced, she moved to Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, England, where she attended Cheadle Hulme School.
She later attended Oxford of Drama graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2017. During her stay at RADA she was involved in many productions such as playing Margaret in Scuttlers. Later, she finally landed a starring role as Laura in Mary Stuart in 2017.
